iPad For Musicians. How to make a "living set list" using Keynote.

I've used an iPad to control a PA system and I have used Keynote to create live show visuals, but it never dawned on me that I could use both of those things to create a dynamic set list. This video gives a brief walk thru of how I use Keynote to make a set list that adds all the information I need (including lyrics) to a variety of different ever evolving set lists. Saturnworks Three Loop Switcher. Adding it to my biggest, weirdest board!

I decided to add a 3 loop switcher to my biggest and most unusual board. This is the pedal board I use most often and one that is subjected to every kind of outdoor situation you can imagine. I play solo most of the time so I'm always trying to make things sound and function better. This video is just focusing on the addition of the switcher and my initial impression of the pedal. So far I real...
Orange CR120 Design Flaw Fixed!

I love my Orange amp, but there has always been a flaw that I tried to get used too. The footswitch indicator light is backwards in my opinion and I couldn't find a way to fix it until now. Hope this is a solution for anyone else who had the same complaint. Here are links to a quick as well as a custom fix to the problem. I got an invite to do a show along the waterfront in the city. I'm aware that city shows can be rough due to parking restrictions and access to the locations and a bunch of other stuff but I wanted to try because it seemed really cool. Unfortunately this situation lived up to the concerns and required me to unload all my stuff onto the very busy street, seek parking elsewhere and then hand carr...
Lol great stuff
I always felt being helpful doesn't have to be so serious. Thanks for watching!
This needs to be showing the episode while you discuss it.
What type of footswitch does that amp work best with im working so i can’t watch this all the way
For some reason my distortion gets a low whistle sound then my distortion goes off to clean???????? Any one have this issue and sorted it?
Thought it was a 3 track looper. Lol it seems exactly what I was wanting...3 stored loops. Drum bass guitar. Or drum bass and 3rd for chours of song. But I see it's a multi (3) effects loop switch. Didn't know that was called a looper. Bummer.. Now I have a pedal for sale. I was looking for a duet type thing.. But 3 tracks. Any suggestions?
Hey Grant. If I were you I’d contact Saturnworks via email. They’re pretty good at answering questions and can sometimes make you something custom according to what you’re looking for. But they may have it already and it’s just titled a little confusingly. Hit them up. You’ll find it.
Which model of SaturnWorks switch is that? Just wanna buy the correct one the first time. Lol
I believe this is the one I use: www.etsy.com/listing/892541031/saturnworks-single-button-latching-amp?ref=related-2 If you email them with any question or even specific requests they are really good with responding and helping you get what you’re looking for. Tell them where you heard about them. 🤓
*Run-through It's a noun; you didn't run the amp through with a sword :D
No I did! I’ll make the correction. Thanks.
I have the combo version and couldn’t be happier with the amps versatility. It replicates tube like sound/breakup very well (indistinguishable) from tube amp to untrained ear. Keeps classic english tone but allows for alot more modern play as well. 9/10
Here here! Couldn’t agree more. It really is a great amp. Thanks for watching. I’m planning on posting more regularly in the new year. One of the vids will be on the Orange Crush 20RT and why I think it’s a perfect practice amp. Hope you’ll check it out.
I just play the amp with some reverb. It sounds really good.
Upload some samples on your channel my man
Like to hear about quality built, affordable pedals. Thanks.
No problem. I’ve purchased others from him since then. So far no problems. The fact that he makes such specific and affordable stuff is really cool and super helpful.
bought an octave pedal because of you!
Congrats. And wise decision. IMO the octave is one of the best “secret weapon” pedals. Use it with a clean tone for single string lines and it’s amazing, use it with a heavy tone some delay and a wah and it’s a face melter. Have fun and use your power for good and maybe evil.
Thanks for the great review, you sold me one ;-)
Glad it helped. It really is a great choice. Now make music my friend!
This was epic dude
You are epic my friend. No grab your guitar and your sword and slay my son!
I had never tried - but in essence, that light is an electrical switch, by inverting the controller into the pedal itself could do the job! Thanks for the solution ! :D
Fan of Tony Iommi? Great tones.
I am. I was a huge metal fan as a kid but walked away from it in my latter teens. Recently I felt the need to revisit that music and not only did most of it hold up it surpassed my expectations. Early Sabbath is so good and I feel like the Dio albums are downright rock masterpieces. Wasn’t going for his sound but if you hear it that’s high praise. Thanks my friend!
Man im late to this lmao. Good sheet bruv
i got the amp for $300, sold the footswitch for $35. I barely use the clean channel on this bc the gain actually cleans up surprisingly well for a solid state. Best $265 amp ever. i love it!
Sweet deal!
400 new from sweetwater a few years back..I love this Amp and my dark terror..Price matched them.Had to purchase the switch separately and I never use it.
I love a good solid state but I’m always blowing up amps and tube amps are easier to diagnose and repair and bring back to life
Wow. My playing has not, and may never, reach the level that it blows up amps. Slow down dude. All joking aside I’ve never had that happen. I’m not gigging with this setup and can’t remember if I specified that this was a just for the love of playing rig. So again cost plus sound were both important reasons I got this amp. Good thing to consider I guess if people are experiencing fried gear.
There's something on Orange's website about using a TR cable Vs. using a TRS cable that works properly with it. I can't remember which one though.
Good call. I feel like I tried everything but that might work. Still the Orange pedal is too large for my taste and the Saturn or other small switchers are definitely worth considering. Thanks!
You're welcome. How is the amp holding up over time and how does it hold up at gig volume?
I think it's a mono TS instrument cable (not speaker cable).
@@DunderHead.5000 holding up fine. Although it never leaves my place. I don’t gig with it. But it is plenty loud. I advocate for drummers to use fewer cymbals and bands play at a volume appropriate to the size of the venue but no one should have trouble keeping up with the other members of a band with this amp.
@@1stvan Sounds good. I appreciate the information.
Thanks for the solution! That damn light drives me nuts. I can hardly hear myself playing over my ocd alarm. Also, off-topic, but what kind of pedal board are you using?
Amen brother. I couldn’t deal with it. It was killing me. Glad it helped. The board is an old SKB PS.25 board. I might do a vid on it. Was going to sell it and then realized I could use it for a home rock board. It’s powered and has the ability to plug your pedals into it and even accommodate an effects loop set up. But just a soft case. Still, I’m glad I hung onto it. Thanks for watching!
That was a really helpful video thanks! Looking to get one of the bass 3-looper buffer pedals for my rig. So you can run multiple loops of pedals simultaneously which is awesome, does this mean however that pedals used in one loop CANNOT be used in a separate loop? Thank you for the clarification!
Thanks glad it helped a bit. Running multiple loops sounds cool but I’m not sure if I know how to accomplish that or if it’s possible with this device. If you reach out to Saturnworks they have been exceptional as far as answering questions. Message them and it will lead you to where you’re headed. Good luck. Rock.
@@1stvan good idea thanks!
Um... this isn't the CR120. This is the Crush Pro 120. Source: I own a CR120.
Is it not the same thing?
@@ballsofdoom3124 they are. The face plate has changed a bit over the years but it’s the same amp
Where did you get the big bandanna for speaker cover ?
What cabinet is that? And how did you put that art on there like that? Looks great
It’s a 90’s era Marshall 4x12. The art is a thin tapestry I had cut to size. I just attached it with chrome apholstery tacks. Thanks.
Love the monster music lol you definetly need to check into gaming sound effects and movie music etc not saying you don't play a mean guitar ......you do!!
It was a window in my case. Not joking certain frequency playing low that I could hear it. But I just wait for my neighbor to leave and give that darn window a real workout.
One button is for channel switching and the other is for turning the reverb on/off.
Benny Musmeci are you referring to the Orange switch? If so correct.
1stvan yes the orange footswitch requires two cords. One for channel switching and one to toggle the reverb.
what is your great but inexpensive octave pedal? and what are those big orange +green knobs? i wanna get some
Sorry I just saw this. There's a link in the description to the octave as well as the other pedals ,and the knobs are by Barefoot Buttons. I really like having those on most of my standard switches. Thanks!
grill looks killer!!
so are you running the whole board through your effects loop, distortion included? had this amp for a few months and am struggling with tone so your video helps a lot
i LOVE my CR120H. I really, really need a switch that lets me swap channels AND turn the reverb on/off. Is power only necessary for the LED? I don't need a light if it means I don't have to take up one of my precious 9v spots!
Sorry for the delay in replying. Yes the power is for the LED. The pedal will work with or without. But I think Saturnworks will have a pedal that might do both things you are looking for. David the builder actually custom built this pedal for me. Reach out to him and explain what you're looking for and he might do the same. Again sorry for the late reply.
Awesome amps man.
The orange amp really comes alive with the orange cabs. They are expensive but it does make a difference.
1969Donovan I bet. My cab is an older Marshall. Sounds good to me but it would be fun to hear things using different speakers. If I had access to some I’d give a whirl. Thanks for watching!
Cool grille cloth on the cab...how did you get that on there? Thanks for the demo!
Ray Kay its a tapestry I had tailored to size. I used chrome finishing racks to attach it to the cab. Turned out better than I expected. Had a talented seamstress work on it so that was the trick.
@@1stvan awesome! Just checked out your webpage with your music and such. Glad to see that you're making music and seem to be living off of doing it. I'll hook you up on instagram if you wish and introduce you to some of mine...
Brilliant! I have that Vox DelayLab and it's amazing. Takes up a lot of pedal board space though. The thing I don't have, but am thinking about, is the Orange Crush Pro....thanks for the demo!
Ray Kay yeah I really like that pedal. I feel like you can tolerate the size because it allows you to store 30 really strong and fairly diverse presets. I don’t think they’re in production anymore so it also makes it more valuable. Thanks for the strong and fairly diverse comment. Hope you get the Pro!
You could probably open up the pedal and rewire the LED or whatever.
Phillip Gioan you could, but I won’t. The Orange pedal is too big anyway. The Saturnworks pedal I’m using is so small yet rugged that it’s perfect. Plus it looks cool.
Where do you get those larger foot switches like on the Rat?
lying to the moon here’s a link to their site. barefootbuttons.com/ You can also get them on Reverb and Sweetwater etc. I like them on pedals I use often.
this is exactly the video i needed to see before i buy one of these. thank you!
Cool. Glad it helped. I love the CR120. But just in case have you seen the Terror Stamp pedal? Orange just released it. Basically an amp in pedal form. Has an effects loop too. Depending on someone’s needs it’s definitely worth looking into.
@@1stvan I have been thinking about the Stamp, mainly to use with my Helix, but I'm not sure about 20 watts. This is a rig for a metal band and I need tons of power. But I know that i'll eventually have that thing. so cool and not super expensive
I’ve been using this head for a little bit. It’s reliable, sounds great and sometimes even fools me into thinking it’s a tube amp in long jams at band volume.
Kassem G is that you?
Are you planning on a video of your updated pedalboard (compared to the one in your other CR120 videos)? Thanks!
I just finished a walk through video for a different board I added a looper switcher too. Once that's up I'll do the follow up. Thanks for reminding me and for watching.
@@1stvan Thanks and you're welcome. I really like your approach and your guitar tones. I just picked up a used CR120C and am working on finding the right settings for me.
I've love the CR120 so much that I've bought two of them, but that stupid Orange footswitch is one of the dumbest purchases I've ever made. 😩
That's a serious love affair. But I get it and approve. I couldn't agree more on the footswitch.
Is there another footswitch we should buy for it
This made me really happy. So wholesome. came to this channel for the cr120 and left with a smile lol
x a n a x wow thanks! I actually posted this on accident but never took it down. It was intended for my other channel. Glad you liked it.
The grill on that cab looks fantastic 👍 all this review does is show the Orange 🍊 Cr120 is a pretty good pedal platform, but it missed how good this amp sounds on it’s own check out Dave Simpson has a whole series on the Cr120 and all the musicians you can sound like.
jesus got enough effects there?
1mrslapzilla no.
Handles may be loose...
What cab are you using?
TheLfsexton it’s a 90’s era Marshal 4 x 12 with Celestion G12L speakers original to the cab.
Wow you got that sounding absolutly killer!
Thanks man! I super appreciate it. I've narrowed the focus of my pedal board a bit since this video and made some cool discoveries. Thinking about doing another video to share but not sure. Might be redundant. I never get tired of this but others might. But again thanks!
Thx for the pro tip. I’m going to order a Saturn. And yes... the ORANGE CR120 is a fantastic amp. Way better than most would expect from a SS amp, but it makes beautiful Rockerverb sounds/tones.
Philip Rode nice! Glad this was helpful. Brian at Saturnworks is great. It will be cool when you get the new switch. You’ll be unstoppable.
Love the video! I'm also a cr120 user. In fact, I bought two heads. Just love them. I like how you're using it with various effects and as a pedal platform. Sounds great! Love your speaker Grill too.
Thanks Miles! Yeah I love it. I'm actually in the process of getting a custom switch made for it and redoing my sounds. I'll post something once it's done. Thanks again.
